Do the bikes arrive fully assembled?
No, Shyre bikes arrive mostly assembled. The build guides show you how to complete the final setup at home, including fitting the wheel, handlebars, pedals, and safety accessories.
How long does assembly take?
Most parents complete the build in around 15–30 minutes, depending on experience. If you’re unsure at any point, we recommend having the bike checked by a trained bicycle mechanic.
What tools will I need?
Most of the tools you’ll need are included with your bike. A bike pump is required to inflate the tyres to the correct pressure, and a screwdriver may be helpful.
How do I know which pedal goes on which side?
Pedals are marked L (left) and R (right).

Left and right are determined from the rider’s seated position, not from the front of the bike.
Do I need to adjust the brakes or gears?
Brakes and gears should always be checked before riding. The guides show basic checks, but fine adjustments may be needed. For full confidence and safety, we recommend a professional bike check.
Can I build the bike myself, or should I use a bike shop?
Many parents successfully build their Shyre bike at home using the guides. However, if you’re unsure at any stage, or would prefer peace of mind, a local bike shop can assemble or check the bike for you.
Is it safe for my child to ride straight away?
Before riding, always complete a final safety check:

  • All bolts tightened
  • Brakes working properly
  • Gears shifting smoothly (where applicable)
  • Tyres inflated to the recommended pressure
What if something doesn’t look or feel right?
Stop and don’t ride the bike. Get in touch with our team or visit a trained bicycle mechanic for advice.
