Shyre started in Shropshire with a simple idea: premium kids' bikes that don't cost the earth, designed around how children actually ride.
Where it began
We couldn't find a kids' bike that was light enough, well made enough and fairly priced, so we built our own. Every model is named after a Shropshire landmark, and designed around how children actually ride.
What started as one bike for our own boys turned into a proper family business, run from Shropshire, for families like yours.

Shyre is a proper family affair, built from the ground up around our kitchen table in Shropshire. Kev and Michelle run it, and Albie, Bobby and Noah are the reason it exists. We couldn't find a kids' bike that was light enough, well made enough and fairly priced for our own three, so we set about building one ourselves.
Albie, Bobby and Noah are the test team, and they are a tough crowd. Every Shyre gets ridden hard by real kids on real Shropshire trails, pump tracks and school runs long before it is ever offered to you. If it doesn't survive a weekend with our three, it doesn't get made. That's usually one of the boys you'll spot in our photos, caked in mud and asking to go again.
And when you get in touch, it's Kev or Michelle who reply. No call centre, no scripts, just a family who know kids' bikes inside out and want yours to be right.
More than a bike company
Honestly, it started because we wanted to be active as a family. We wanted to be role models for our boys, to show them there's a whole world outside of school and sport, and that getting out and about matters.
But it grew into something bigger than that. We wanted to show the boys how to actually run a business too. How you start one, how you grow it, how you look after customers and how you manage the money side of things. The whole package, really. Every bike we sell is a small lesson for them as much as it is a bike for you.
Out on the trails most weekends
We don't just make these bikes, we ride them. Most weekends you'll find us out on a Shropshire pump track or somewhere up in the hills, putting the bikes, and the boys, properly through their paces.

Bikes that get kids outside
Underneath all of it, this is about getting children off the sofa and out into the fresh air. We grew up with muddy knees and bikes dropped in the hedge, and we wanted the same for our two, and for yours.
A bike that's too heavy or too fiddly stays in the shed. So we obsess over the things that actually get a child riding: low weight they can handle on their own, brakes small hands can pull, and a fit that feels right from the very first push. Get that bit right and the bike does the rest. Suddenly they want to be out, exploring, wearing themselves out in the best possible way.
That's the whole point of Shyre. Not just to sell you a bike, but to give your kids a reason to love being outdoors.
