The full story

A real mountain bike, scaled for real kids

The Eastie isn't a bike that looks the part — it's trail kit that works: suspension that actually moves, brakes that actually bite, and geometry that keeps them in control when the ground gets interesting.

Built for the rough stuff

Bridleways, forest tracks, pump tracks, the lumpy shortcut through the woods — this is where kids fall in love with riding. The Eastie is built for exactly that: a suspension fork soaks up roots and ruts, grippy off-road tyres hold their line in the mud, and trail-ready mountain geometry keeps young riders stable when the trail points down.

Underneath it all is a tough 6061 alloy frame that's light enough to handle but built to survive real childhoods — backed, as always, by our lifetime frame warranty.

Roots, ruts and grins — Eastie territory.

Brakes and gears that mean it

Off-road riding asks more of a bike, so the Eastie answers with Jak mechanical disc brakes — consistent, confident stopping in all weather, mud included, with levers set for small hands. It's the upgrade that matters most the moment a descent gets steep.

A 7-speed Shimano drivetrain covers everything from grinding climbs to flat-out farm tracks, with shifting that's light enough for young fingers mid-trail.

Every proper rider remembers their first mountain bike. Make theirs a good one.

The Shyre family, Shropshire

Three sizes, trail-ready from age five

The Eastie comes in 20", 24" and 26" wheels, taking riders from around age five right through their teens. Each size shares the same DNA: suspension fork, disc brakes, Shimano gears and geometry drawn for a child's proportions — not an adult frame shrunk in the wash.

Finishes are pure trail: stealthy Charcoal Black, clean Light Grey and full-volume Acid Lime.

Suspension that works

A real suspension fork takes the sting out of roots, ruts and kerbs — keeping the front wheel planted and the rider in charge.

The tyres

Grip where it's slippery

Knobbly off-road tyres hold their line in mud and loose gravel, so confidence doesn't stop at the end of the tarmac.

Eastie sizing, answered

Is my child ready for a mountain bike?
If they're pedalling and braking confidently and keep steering off the path on purpose, they're ready. The Eastie 20" is designed as a first mountain bike from around age five — no prior off-road experience needed.
Why disc brakes on a kids' bike?
Because kids ride in all weather and stop late. Disc brakes keep their bite in rain and mud where rim brakes fade, and they need less hand strength at the lever — a genuine safety upgrade, not a gimmick.
Eastie or Hopton — which should I choose?
If most riding is paths, parks and the school run, choose the Hopton — it's lighter and quicker on tarmac. If they're drawn to trails, tracks and mud, the Eastie's suspension, tyres and discs are worth it. Plenty of families run one of each.
Should I size up so it lasts longer?
No — off-road, correct fit matters even more. An oversized bike is harder to control on descents. Buy the size that fits today; the fit adjusts as they grow, and our Trade-Up programme handles the next jump.
